Question by Kelly Martin: Do you have to wait the full 6 weeks to have sex after child birth?

i gave birth 5 weeks ago.. i did not tear, never needed stitches. everything went perfectly. but i have heard that you should wait to have sex until your 6 weeks is up. I have never wanted it more. So do you really have to wait?

You should wait 4 to 6wks but that's based on stitches and tearing...A lot of women choose to wait longer because it's so painful. If you didn't tear or have stitches you should be fine not waiting any longer, if it does become painful then you probably should give it a few more weeks!
